I was doing a card swap this weekend for a friend and I got tired of making cards so I threw this little sock snowman together for her. It uses one kids size sock (new and clean of course) and some long grain rice. There is 1 cup in the bottom snowball, and then tied with yarn, then 3/4 in the middle, tied with yarn, and then 1/2 in the top snowball. Then you hot glue the snow balls together so they don't flop around. I tried to get extra tricky and use my frost white paint on the sock to make it sparkly but it turned out kind of blotchy. I think if I tried this again I would maybe dilute it in some water and spray it on instead. Oh well attempt #1 never turns out perfect. You have to start somewhere!!!
I think this little snow lady would also look very cute holding one of those little skinny M&M bags. Maybe I will add that to the next one I make :)
This also uses out of the Stampin' Up Holiday Mini catalog the Holly Berry Bouquet paper, Mica Flakes, the Pines & Poinsettias stamp set, Holly Berry Bouquet Designer Fabric, and from the big catalog the buttons.
Have a great Monday!

Teacher Treats
Today was my son's first day of preschool so we had to make something for his new teachers. He is the youngest so he was SO ready to go off to school today. He helped me run the stars through the big shot and and stuck them on with glue dots. He was all smiles when he handed them to his teachers this morning.
I try not to show you too many things with retired products but this paper just worked too well. It is the Love Notes paper from last years catalog, and the apple from the retired set Tart & Tangy. The words are from the set, A Word For You.

I think he is going to have a wonderful year!

Christmas Lodge
Good Morning! I hope you all had a great weekend. I did sneak into my craft room this weekend for a little. I spent most of the time cleaning so I could find a table to work on. I did however get it cleaned up and got this card done with the set Christmas Lodge. This is from the new Stampin up Holiday Mini.
I turned the Versa Mark pad upside down and used it like a stamp all over the tree image. Then I dumped Iridescent Ice all over it and embossed. It gives it a nice sparkly look.
Stamps: Christmas Lodge, Petite Pairs
Ink/Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Early Espresso, Whisper White, Frostwood Lodge DSP

Flower Pots
Ok if you are in my stamp clubs....DON'T LOOK!!! We will be making this project this month :)
I have seen these all over the web so I decided to give them a try. With the new Stampin up Simply Scored tool it went really fast. These use two pieces of 1 1/2 inch by 12 inch paper strips, and they are in 2 inch pots.
I saw this great tutorial on these at Heather's web site at

Thanks for stopping by today. :)

Color Challenge
So I decided to try the Pals Paper Art Color Challenge this week and here were the colors.... Now I tried really hard to come up with something pretty with flowers or a cute Christmas set, but nothing was working for me. All I could think of was my favorite East Coast football team the Virginia Tech Hokies! Sorry all you non football fans, but when you give me Riding Hood Red, Calypso Coral, and Basic Gray, and it is the opening weekend of college football, all it says to me is GO HOKIES!!!!
Stamps: Smarty Pants (the GO is from the GOOD FRIEND stamp) Pennant Parade
Ink/Paper: Riding Hood Red, White, Calypso Coral, Basic Gray.
Punches: 1 3/8 circle (this made the circle and the football), Petite Pennants Builder

Jolly Christmas
Here is another card from the Festive & Fun set from the new Stampin Up Holiday Mini catalog. This is a great set because it give you a Christmas, Halloween, and Valentine's Day stamp for $14.95. I have paired it with my favorite ribbon and favorite paper (Mocha Morning). In case you couldn't guess I love polka dots!
I have no big plans for the weekend other than running after the two kiddos and my husband so I hope to sneak into my craft room and get a few cards done this weekend. Come check back with me next week and see if I actually got anything done :)
Have a great weekend!

Fall Flowers
Good Morning! Here is a card I did for the Mojo Monday Sketch challenge. I don't do a lot of square cards but the extra room was fun to work with. I really wanted to go with a fall kind of feel with this one so I chose Mustard, and Saffron, with a little Suede. I couldn't finish it until the UPS man came with my new buttons I ordered at 5:00 last night! Next time we move I am going to check the ups routes to make sure I am at the beginning! I can just see the monster eye roll my husband will do when I tell him that is a factor in our house hunt :)
Have a great day!
