A Crown for the Princess

This is a fun little crown I made using the tab punch and some gold paper. I embossed with gold powder on the gold paper to give it a "Royal" feel. I also did some sponging with Black Stazon ink on the edges to make it look a little more vintage. This was a lot of fun to make and will be even more fun to wear. How do you think I will look wearing this doing the dishes tonight!

Stamps: Vintage Vogue

ps. My new stamps from the NEW STAMPIN UP CATALOG will be here on Thursday. Whoo Hoo0! Now it is time to clean some space in my craft room so I can stamp!

Birthday Party Favors

So when you have little kids you KNOW how important the party favors are! These we did for my daughter's birthday last year. I just found the picture when I was thinking about what to do for this year :) We went down the Target clearance isle where we found these cute plastic cups. We filled them up with some other clearance things we found like bubble necklaces and some candy. Then we just wrapped them in a cellophane bag and made a topper to match. I think they cost about $2.00 a piece. I guess it is all in the packaging because the kids loved them! Every time my daughter goes to her friends house she says they still are still using their cups. Hmmm... guess I better get back to working on this year!

Die cut: Flower Daisy #2 (p 22 in new catalog)

Nugget Bags

Today is the last day of the first session of swim lessons. The kids and I made these for their swim teachers. It was super easy to do! A few punches, die cutes, designer paper, and chocolate of course!

The bags are from http://www.clearbags.com/ and they are the 1 7/8 by 7 1/16.

Ps. Don't forget this is the first day to order from the new Stampin' Up! Catalog. I have my order ready to go in today. I can't wait to get my hands on some new stamps!

Birthday Box

This is a cute little birthday box I made. It can be filled with candy or gift cards or both! This one is a simple design but if you come up with your own I would love to see them!

Here are the directions....

Start with a piece of paper 5 1/2 inches by 9 1/2 inches

Here is where you need to score...

Score the on the short side at 1/2 inch, 1 inch, 4 1/2, and 5 inches.

Score on the long side at 1 1/2 inches, 2 1/2 inches, 5 inches, 6 inches, 8 1/2 inches and 9 inches.

Cut out and discard all the shaded areas.

Fold on score lines.

Use the corner rounder to round the corners of the top of the box.

Next we are going to make an insert to be the bottom of the top box. Cut an extra piece of paper 3 and 5/16 by 1 and 1/2. You might have to adjust the 3 and 5/16 I can't seem to get it exactly right each time.

Score at 1/2 and 1 inch.

Fold on your scored lines to create a U shape.

Sticky Strip or glue your U piece to form the bottom of the top box

Fold the flaps in and glue or sticky strip to hold in place.

Cut two extra pieces 1 1/2 by 3 1/2 (you may have to trim them a little). Add Designer Paper.

Add the front pieces to your box to create the pockets for the goodies.

Finish Embellishing... and load up with candy or gift cards. And you are done! Embellish it and change it around to make your own box. You could also leave off the belly band and add some magnets under the flap to keep the box shut.
