Teacher Week #2

This is the project my 6 year old daughter made for her 1st grade teacher for Teacher Appreciation Week. We bought a 8 pack of mini coke bottles (her teacher's favorite) and kept them in the plastic holder to keep them together. Then we snipped two of them loose and stacked them on top to make a pyramid. Then it all got held together with designer paper and she went nuts from there. She went through all my scrap drawers to decorate it and also taped on some Lindor Truffles, her teachers favorite candy. She was super proud of her creation when she was done and so excited to bring it to school today.
Although she did tell me she could have brought her teacher a slug on a stick and she would have still liked it I think she will like this even better. Good Work Hailey!

Teacher Week!

It's Teacher Appreciation Week at my daughter's school this week. This is my first project of the week that includes her classroom teacher, principal, library, PE, art and music teachers. I just bought the cupcakes at walmart and put them in these cute little cupcake bags I bought at http://www.clearbags.com/. I used the new Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch to embellish them and... tadah!!! Project #1 is done! I have a few more projects planned for the week so stop back by later :) If you have some special teachers in your life be sure to tell them thanks. They work hard!

Open Sea Meets Plant Hope

This card combines one of my favorite sets Plant Hope with the new set The Open Sea. I have been making a lot of cards with this new set and wanted to give it a new twist that wasn't nautical. Thanks for taking a peak!

The Open Sea II

Hello! Thanks for stopping by today. This one is kind of different but kind of interesting to look at. I think if I would have had the patience to put a few more layers of embossing powder on to give it an even deeper "wax" imprint look it might look even better. I might go back and give this one another try and maybe try gold instead of silver. My three year old will be up from his nap soon so it will have to wait until another day. Sigh.....

Wait! I figured out a better way... and yes three year old is up and watching t.v...bad mommy! I actualy had to call MY mom to remind me how to do this. Thanks Mom!!!

Pour on the embossing powder on the card and then heat the pile of powder from the bottom of the card. It makes a nice little embossing pool when it melts. Place your stamp in the pool and let it dry there. After a few minutes pick it up and you have a nice wax looking embellishment. Tadah!!!

Fabulous Florets Take Three

Here is another card with the new set Fabulous Florets. I combined the two sets Seasonal Sentiments and Sincere Salutations to make the greeting. This also uses the Lattice die which I just got and had to use on the card. To make it go all the way down the page I just cut it in half and pieced it back together to make it long instead of wide. Thanks for visiting today :)

Ink/Paper: Wild Wasbi, Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Tangerine Tango

Fabulous Florets #2

As promised... here is my third card of the week. This one is also done with Fabulous Florets and the background is The Open Sea. I alternated the background stamp different directions and different colors. I then went back and sponged in the color on top. The first one I made had a big blank hole in the middle so this card became one more layer when I made another one to go on top to hide the hole. I think half my cards at least are accidents in one way or another.

Stamps: Fabulous Florets, The Open Sea

Ink/Paper: Baja Breeze, Not Quiet Navy, Soft Suede, Whisper White
